Africa Entry Requirements

Every passenger will need a valid passport that has at least two blank Visa pages in it. If you do not have two blank pages you will be denied boarding!  In addition, most countries require that a passport be valid for at least 6 months after the intended return date.  No advance visas are required for Sout Africa, Zimbabwe, or Namibia or now Kenya.  Tanzania still requires purchaseing a visa on line.  Countries requiring tourist visas make them available on line. Since tourism is a major business, folks in this area of the world are happy to see American tourists, and border problems are extremely rare.

A new wrinkle has been added to the region as of Oct 2014.  If you are bringing minor children with you, you will need to bring a copy of their Un-abridged birth certificates with you.  Also,  if both parents aren’t accompanying the minor children, you will need a letter from the other parent stating that you have permission to transport the children.  Grandparents please note this requirement.
